Standard organisational methods of the disposal service provider In 2017, about 18,786 tons of waste were produced at both works, 18,780 tons of which was non-hazardous waste. Most of the waste is disposed of in the waste incineration plant. At the Bocholt works, about 6 tons of waste oil was professionally disposed of as hazardous waste by the regional waste facility. Waste dough and bread are processed by a disposal company to make animal feed. Waste disposal methods: The standard methods of disposal service providers are used in dealing with most of the waste. Waste dough and bread are directly passed on to the animal feed manu- facturer by our company. Further performance indicators are either not yet available or are currently under development. 13. CLIMATE-RELEVANT EMISSIONS The company shall disclose its greenhouse gas emissions in accordance with the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol or standards based on it and shall state the targets it has set itself for reducing the emissions. As of 31.12.2017, we first calculated the greenhouse gas emissions for both our production sites, in accordance with the GHG Protocol, with the aid of the Eco-Cockpit Tool of the Efficiency Agency NRW (cradle-to-gate system boundaries and 5 % security surcharge). In 2017, our t otal emissions amounted to 35,616,642 kg CO 2 e. The most important emission sources are the use of gas (53 %) and electricity (28 %) at our production sites in Bocholt and Drossdorf. Our prime objective is therefore to lower our electricity and gas consumption, as well as our CO 2 emissions. For this purpose, we will be examining the possibility of converting to green electricity and biogas in 2018. In addition, a maintenance check and material flow analyses are planned for 2019. On the basis of the data thereby obtained, it will be possible to set concrete objectives for reducing greenhouse gas emissions. EMISSION REDUCTION
